Why choose Kuoma winter boots for your child?
Kuoma winter boots are especially known for their thermal insulation. The thick sole does not conduct cold from the ground, and the fluffy inner lining keeps warm air circulating around the foot. The shoes are also exceptionally lightweight, making them comfortable even for small feet. Most of our models are machine washable, which makes everyday life easier when muddy weather strikes.
Putkivarsi, Lumi, Snow Lock, or Crosser?
Our selection covers different needs and foot shapes:
Putkivarsi: Our most popular classic model. A lightweight and extremely warm winter boot that is easy to pull on without fasteners. Features a water- and dirt-repellent upper and a roomy fit that suits most feet.
Lumilukko (Snow Lock): The perfect choice for snow play. This model features a completely waterproof lower part and an adjustable snow lock on the shaft to keep snow out. It also comes with a KVD insole system that allows you to increase the volume as the foot grows.
Lumi: An excellent model for slushy weather. This boot also features a waterproof lower part to keep toes dry. It comes with two insoles (KVD system) and offers a structured fit.
Crosser (and Velcro models): A Velcro model that allows for adjustment of the fit and instep volume. A great choice for narrow feet or high insteps, as the boot can be tightened to fit perfectly.
Choosing the right size and care
It is important to have enough room in a winter boot. We recommend leaving about 1,5 cm of extra space for growth and movement in kid's winter boots. Thermal insulation does not work optimally in a shoe that is too tight. The Kuoma fit is designed to be roomy, suiting Nordic feet well. Kuoma footwear repels water and dirt, but please note that they are not rubber boots. For wet conditions, we recommend models featuring a waterproof lower part or a waterproof membrane. To keep your shoes in top condition, we suggest familiarizing yourself with Kuoma’s care instructions. Additionally, some of our models are machine washable.
